Mesothelioma expert delivers the medical team at Mount Sinai | Mesothelioma news

This summer Sinai table Cancer Institute in New York City was appointed Dr. Raja M. Flores, m.d, the position of the thoracic surgical oncology program director and Chief of thoracic surgery on the mountain. Dr. is a prominent surgeon, specialized in lung cancer, esophageal cancer and mesothelioma, a rare cancer of the protective lining of large cavities and organs of the body mostly caused by prolonged exposure to asbestos.

Dr. Flores connects Mount Sinai after working at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and is famous for its technical and diagnostic expertise. He has written several groundbreaking studies, including a landmark study that surgical management of pleural mesothelioma as amended concerns especially the lining of the lungs. This study entitled "Extrapleural lung resection versus Pleurectomy debarking under the management of malignant pleural mesothelioma" journal was quoted widely since their release of thoracic and cardiovascular surgery in 2008.

Dr. Flores study proved that was only part which membrane remove around the lung pleura as successful as removing the entire lung pleura mesothelioma patients. Pleural mesothelioma is the most common type of mesothelioma, which is 75% of cases. Peritoneal mesothelioma is the next most common type, effects on the lining of the abdomen and 20% to 30% of cases.

Dr. is the author of over 150 peer-reviewed manuscripts, reviews, books and book chapters, and he has involved more than 100 international German-speaking tours. Additionally, his work in renowned scientific journals such as the journal of Clinical Oncology, the released Journal of Thoracic Oncology, of vascular surgery annals of surgery, the annals of thoracic surgery and the journal.
